The massifs of Rila and Pirin are the highest mountains of the Balkan Peninsula and are the most suitable terrain in Bulgaria for hikers. In these mountains, which are national parks, glacial lakes and valleys abound. In its valleys there are small thermal stations that are the perfect place to relax after a long day of trekking.
Our first walks pass through the Rila mountain. Here we will climb the pic Musala (2925 m), the highest in the country, the Turkish-Arabic origin name means "the last before God" and we will discover the enchanted circus of the Seven Lakes of Rila. During the transfer from one mountain to the other, we will stop visiting the famous Rila Monastery: the most important in Bulgaria for its fascinating architecture, art and history. We will continue the trip exploring the alpine mountains of the Pirin National Park. We will climb to the pyramid of white marble of the Vijren peak (2914 m). At the end of the trip we will visit the beautiful cities of Plovdiv and the capital, Sofia.
